For those GSSF Amatuer shooters interested, Alabama Holster Company is sponsoring a "Most Improved Shooter" competition.

    Rules:
1- Shooter must have shot a minimum of 2 matches in the 2011 calendar year.
2- Shooter must show improvement from the first match of the year.
3- You CANNOT claim cross division scores. i.e you shoot a 298.62 with your subcompact but a 97.21 with your competition gun. If you are entering your AmCiv score, it will be compared against your other AmCiv scores.
4- We will not accept unlimited scores as there is no way for me to verify you weren't using a stock gun.

    The awards will be:
Holster- Alabama Holster Co "Slider" with your choice of attachment.
    http://alabamaholster.com/index.php?p=2_3

    Mag Pouch- Double Mag pouch
    http://alabamaholster.com/index.php?p=2_18

You can post your scores and match here or, if you are scared:tongueout:, you can PM me. BE ADVISED, in the interest of fairness and transparency, the winner's scores will be posted along with their screen name.

    Good luck to the participants.

I will consult my math familiar and see what math formula we can use to define the "best improvement" since shear number of seconds would really benefit some more than others. I am thinking we can do a percentage improvement to be fair to ALL LEVELS of shooters that show improvement.

    Any objections to that?

Just doing quick calculations so we can see how things are going. If need be, we can go out as far as necessary from the decimal to break a tie.

    Looks correct to me.

I was a lousy shooter at my first match in Columbia, SC.
I only picked up a handgun for the first time on August 1st.
So, I've been doing this less than 2 months now.

thanks, like I mentioned above, I've been only shooting handguns for almost 2 months now....

now, it gets harder to improve...

next year, or the year after, I'm going after Butch, lol....

Only kidding Butch...I can only hope to be HALF as good as you.

Half as good? I call that twice as good... as when Bama gets a 55 Comp and I get a 110 Comp I am twice as good! :tongueout:

Are Team AHC members eligible? Pretty sure I can't beat Greg's percentage improvement though.

Are they judging by percentages??? I don't think I could beat anyone that takes 200 seconds off their score when I didn't even shoot 200 to begin with. If they judge by the percentage you take off then after Lexington I'm in. But I know who deserves to win, rpgman, Greg has improved dramatically and I tip my hat to anyone that does that much work and comes that far in such a little bit of time.

    can I enter someone else?

    Pam shot:

    Marietta AC 533.38
    Beckley AC 358.84

She shot a 329.xx in Brighton in UL shooting her 19, but as you've already pointed out there's a good chance I'd lie to you about it being a stock gun. I had her enter MStock and UL because last year I lost a UL gun and GlockinRandell lost a MS gun because both our wifes entered AmCiv and Comp and either one of them would of made the 10th shooter for a gun prize.

The prize offered is perfect for a GSSF shooter as it is safe to holster with the slide back and can be used for multiple length barrels.

If you buy one of the IWBs, you will like it; you might have to wait though, a one man shop doing high quality work by hand is a time consuming enterprise.

I'll see you there. I am just hoping to drop my UL score which was 91 by 11 seconds and my CivAm score by 51 seconds (it was 151.55). That may be a tall order, at least the UL score, but thats my goal. It will be my second match also.
