In your opinion which state is the most gun friendly at the moment?

This would include current law as well as the possibility of future legislation. Carry laws can vary and I realise that a few states don't require any permit but...other states don't honor that position and you have to get an out of state permit to carry to travel.

All thing considered...which would you choose?

Kansas has really done an about-face on gun laws. It is one of the gun-friendliest states in the union now. I used to hate it here but things have really taken off in that regard and Kansas is now a leading pro-gun state.

I have a few friends that when we discuss conservative politics Christies name comes up. In a state that is already one of the worst in regards to the Second amendment he comes out with even more restrictions including a ban on .50 caliber guns??? Pure politics and NO principles...........he's in the same group as McCain and other east coast republicans.

ArmoryDoc....Kansas wasn't on my radar at all but now that you bring it up, I do recall reading about your progress. Thanks!

The country is becoming more and more divided along just about any "line" you want draw. So much for "uniting" America.

I currently reside in one of them. Vermont has had Constitutional carry in place since it joined the Union as the 14 th. state in 1791. I think much as the Founders intended when they penned that pesky, some think out dated document known as the Constitution of the United States. SJ 40

A big plus for Az. is the lack of -20 degree temps. While Vermont winters are not even close to Minnesota winters,Arizona is my favorite place to winter. SJ 40

Very cool but that doesn't negate the fact snow birds drive 10 under.

Snowbirds are like Canadians they are either doing 45 mph or 90,no in between.

Something unique to New England is passing, going around on the right side of the road, police don't even give it a second thought.

Sorry about the thread drift, back to the OP's question

There are four states with Constitutional Carry,IMO those would have to be considered the best.

    Alaska
With the exception of SE Alaska, colder than Minnesota or Vermont.

    Arizona
    Warmer in the winter

    Vermont
Colder in the winter than Az.

    Wyoming
Colder than both Mn. and Vt. but they seem to be willing to tell the Feds where to get off at.

There is the list of the best states, take your pick of climates.

HAHA!!! 90!? Watched many of them do the Montreal to Boston trip; VT state troopers didn't even look twice at you unless your going 110. (back in the 1990's)

In Vermonters defense, they have a plague up there that requires caution, it's called leaf peepers. Most are from out-of-state. Also, Mass drivers used to be quite a bother too. I'll not repeat the name of given them here. :whistling:

Of course, this was 20yrs ago and VT has changed a lot since then... don't go there anymore.

Arizona. I was able to live there for 5 years. It truly was nice to live in a free state. Now I am stuck in The People's Republic of Illinois. ONE OF THE WORST STATES!

LOL Thanks, I had to move here to be near my children. So I have no regrets, just miss living in a free state.

Arizona??? If that's true...how does John McCain keep getting re-elected? He voted for the background check bill, along with a few other supposed republicans.

Please take that from a fella that lives in a state that elected a proffessional wrestler for governer and a bad comedian for US Senate....Franken. We did manage to beat down all new gun control legislation though....go figure?

Your are so right. No one that I know actually wants Mccain but the alternatives are even worse. If only we could find a true conservative candidate

That said, yes we are still # 1

I wouldn't claim that Utah (where I live) is necessarily the best state, but I think it ranks pretty well. Something that has been very useful to me is that it's legal here (with a CCW permit) to carry concealed into public schools and on college campuses. When my wife was an elementary school teacher, I carried concealed into her school countless times without worry of an infraction.
