I've got a number of old non-drop free Glock 17 mags, is there anyway these can be modified to drop free?

Leave them alone, come off some cash and just buy some drop-free mags.

If you screw with the non-drop free mags you are just going to do weaken them. I have seen it before, where some meathead at a match had thinned the sides on his mags using a belt sander. They split right down the sides when he loaded them.

The best way is to post a want to trade ad. You may find someone willing to buy you some new mags for the older ones, especially if preban state

My son took an old 17 and his old mags to Glock for an up-grade last year.

They replaced all internal parts on the 17 and replaced all his non dropfree mags with new dropfrees.

All at no cost to him.

I read somewhere that there are so few of the non-drop mags left that they are starting to command a premium price on the used market.

Maybe look into selling them and buying new drop frees?

    They are pre-ban magazines:

    1. Clean them
    2. Sell them to someone in NY
    3. Buy new mags with the proceeds

If they are in decent shape, I would consider a trade for some of my drop free mags. I only have two of the old non-drop free and I'm fond of them. I'm in TN though, so some pour souls in one of the banned states might stand to benefit more from them.

    Fixed.

Some numbskull who collects old Glock stuff would love to have them.

    Oh...wait.
