Started off as a basic Mk. 18, but grew from there. I really wish I had done a DD rail instead of the VTAC rail, though...

The Surefire has been moved to a 3 o'clock rail since these photos were taken, though, and the ASAP has (thankfully) been replaced with a standard lock plate.

Can always do two uppers for one lower. Get 5.56 up front, then get .300 later.

What don't you like about the VTAC? I was thinking if I build an SBR I would use a VTAC Alpha.

Because of how short the tube is, using the bolt-on rails just makes it feel too damn lumpy and uncomfortable for me. When budget allows, I would really like to put a DD Mk. 18 rail on it (like I should have in the first place), but might go with a Troy TRX standard, since it uses the same barrel nut as the VTAC, and it would save me some headache.
