    Hey guys,

    Need help here.

    I am currently having problems with my PC. I recently installed AVG anti spyware on my machine and all of a sudden some functions in my computer have gone missing. Like the text on the search function. Image below;

    The system restore function text has also gone awol.

    I already tried rebooting the system with the "last good configuration" and in "safe modes" but the problem still persists.

    My yahoo instant messenger also was affected with texts in the message box missing. I tried the yahoo on the web and it worked fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled YM but still had the same problem.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks to the group!

    hi,

    am not an expert but had several almost the same experiences in e-virus infection. ten years ago once your pc got infected you'll immediately know since it will give out its visual signature, like a bouncing ball, electronic demon face, etc, etc... nowadays, based on my experience the anomalies can be determined by sudden changes in the user's configuration on the desktop or most frequently used applications.

    imho, considering that what you installed is an ant-virus which supposidely should prevent/monitor seem gives out signs of anomalies resulting to infection.

    one question before going further, is the avg genuine out-of-the box software or pirated? if its the latter, then i guess, this is the time you need to back up your most important data....

    i'll wait for your info...

    The AVG anti spayware I installed was legit because it was a free download at their website.

    http://free.grisoft.com/doc/20/lng/us/tpl/v5

    When I ran the program I had 185 infections fixed and my internet speed was became faster. Unfortunately maybe the software recognized the missing file to be infected kaya nabura din.

    Anyways, our tech guy is working on it also and I am sure he will recommend reinstall of the OS para mas madali ang buhay namin pare parehas. :supergrin:
