Minimum Barrel length for 45 ACP?

    Mas,
    As guns get smaller and smaller we are starting to see micro 45 ACP guns
    with as little as 3" barrels.

    Even with high tech bullets, is there a minimum effective barrel length
    for expansion from a 230 gr 45?

    As we both know, longer barrels generate higher velocities, and the same bullet at higher velocity hits harder. That said, many feel a need for shorter barrels for concealment. High tech loads like the Gold Dot Short Barrel -- and the Ranger-T, the HST, and the Golden Saber -- were all engineered to open at lower velocities.
