I've got gen 3 23C and am very happy with it. It is now my EDC.

The G23 is a good choice and especially in Gen 4. The main issue people are having are in the 9mm versions. If you got this in Gen 4 you should be fine.

I have two gen 4's. 17 and 26 both have worked perfectly for me.

I had a Gen4 G17 but switched back to a Gen3 G17 simply because it felt better to me. The Gen 4's work fine, Glock has fixed all the issues associated with them. Get whichever one feels better to you.

You can't go wrong with gen 3 or gen 4. I am issued a 23C and have carried one on and off duty for year. Great gun. No downside except for slightly higher purchase price.

Thanks guys. I actually thought that price was pretty decent.
