Mason's plaque at the Alamo

    I took this pic when I got married and we visited the Alamo...

    That plaque was erected by the Grand Lodge of Texas to honor the Masons that fought and died there. It is on the Bldg. refered to as the Long Barracks. Every day in March the Lodges of San Antonio put on a MM Degree inside the Alamo. Haven't been there in awhile. If you're a Texan, It puts a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye.

    Been through DC alot of times, never had the time to visit. I would like to visit the House of the Temple some time.

    Yes they were. Along with the others listed and many others who shaped Texas as a Country and later as a State. Masons started the public education system in Texas and were the developers of School Week, now know as Public Schools Week - an event held in many states.
