Lets here it for the Marlin model 60. love mine, nothing special just the standard 129 dollar special at the local Turners outdoors a few years ago. Fun little guns.

    I love my Marlin 60. I have since I bought it brand new........in 1980.

It has digested at least 30-40K (or more) rounds by myself and two now grown sons, and a new $6 buffer is all that has been replaced in 31years.

    It ain't goin' nowhere.

It's the classic 18 shot with the squirrel stock.

I have a scope on mine. It's a fun-to-shoot shootin' iron, for sure.

I bought one to replace the 55 year old J.C. Higgins I was using. The J.C. still works but has a mind of its own and I don`t trust it anymore. The Marlin shoots great.

One of these days I need to stop at the Farm store and pick up some .22 brass tubing so I can make some more speed loaders for my M60 and my other tube fed .22s (LR & Mag).

  11. I just picked one up back home when I was on leave. Didn't get a chance to shoot it since I had to get back home here the next day so I mailed it to myself and it should be here by Wednesday. Mine is I think an older one with the longer barrel and magazine capacity, smooth stocks and has the bolt stop button on it. Not sure when it was made but I think the dealer said it was something like an early 90s model. Can't wait until it gets in so I can take it in to work and give it a try. One thing I am probably going to do it put a Simmons 3-9 22 mag scope on it but I have to figure out what rings (medium or high) I am going to need.

I gave one to my nephew on the occasion of his 18th birthday. We took it shooting a few times and he shot it alot while away at school. He made a comment about wishing it was more tacticool so I got another stock and did some work.
This is how he keeps it now.

He still has the factory stock, but it sits in his room unused.

    I love my Model 60.

I just ordered a 3-9 x 32 scope/rings for it yesterday. I've been able to plink golf balls at ~40 yds with the open sights, but my eyes are starting to have a hard time focusing on the front sight. It's hell getting old...

People say everyone has a Ruger 10/22, but I think the Marlin 60 is more popular.

Model 60 is the number one selling .22 rifle of all time! I had to have one! I personally have owned, somewhere between 10-15 22 rifles, and to date, have only had one, that shoots tighter groups, then my model 60. Bought one on a wim, and lo and behold it's my favorite squirrel rifle. Can't wait for September! By the way, I have four dedicated squirrel rifles.

That was a factory Marlin 60 stock I added the pistol grip to.

A model 60 was my first .22lr and I wish I still had it. It was very accurate with the cheap scope that came with it. I don't think I ever cleaned it but it staill ran. :whistling:
