I saw on a YouTube video where a guy said the magazine release could be turned around so you can push it while holding it left handed. A forum search for lefty and left handed didn't return any threads titled like they would cover that. Anyone know if this is true?

That will only work for the Gen4 models. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Yeap, takes less than 5 minutes. Only on Gen4 Glocks though.

I am also a lefty. I had a glock rep do mine at a gun show. Literally took like 4 minutes.

I considered switching my gen 4 over.....but then most of my mags wouldn't work and i'd have to re-learn how to do a reload. I just leave everything the same. I always did wonder what took them so long to come up with that idea for the switchable mag release.

I'm a lefty and just bought my first Gen 4, but I won't be switching the mag release to the left side. After carrying and qualifying with Gen 2 and 3's for 20 years it's to late to switch plus my other Glocks don't have that option. I release the mag with my middle finger and am just as fast as any of the right handed shooters. The other problem I would have is I could only use Gen 4 mags in the gun. I want my Gen 3 M17 mags to function in my compact and sub-compact Glocks.
