Just bought a Colt LE6920. Ordered a Magpul MOE handguard. The carbine currently has the Colt side-mount front sling mount, that mounts in the gap under the front sight assembly. In looking at the Magpul website, the MOE handguard appears to have two "wing-like" protrusions off the front of the handguard on either side, that "straddle" the front sight assembly. Is my current sling mount going to obstruct this, or does it need to be removed? Anyone know? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't mind removing it if need be, but don't want to if I don't have to. Thanks.

It does not go very far. I hope you can see if in these pictures. 2 of the rifles have the Magpul MOE handguards install.

Looks good in your pics, it just looked like it would shadow over the sling mount if I left it on. I see you don't have the mount I have installed, but still, it looks like it'll clear according to your pics. Thanks, I guess we'll see.

No problem good luck. I am considering a 6920 or a BCM carbine. All mine are from kits and trying to decide if one built by someone else would be worth it or not.

Maybe these will help. The handguards are on a Colt Lightweight Sporter.

Side view, as perpendicular to the barrel and the front edge of the handguards as I could eyeball it:

I meant to ask you Jon, what you thought of that Stark grip you have on the AR in the middle. I saw them advertised but couldn't find any real reviews of them. They look interesting, and I almost ordered one before my MIAD, just curious.

The "side sling thing" clears the Magpul MOE handguards just fine. I have both and have no problems whatsoever.

I like it pretty well. It is a bigger grip then what you usually get and the continuous plastic you have for the trigger guard keeps any edges off your hand. Overall I like it. My hands are pretty big and I am a lefty so having it ambi is also required and I added a lefty colt safety. I would buy it again and consider using it on my next build if the rifle is for me primarily. If it is for my daughter I might stick to an ergo grip since she has little hands.
