I wasn't sure of the correct terminology, but I noticed
that some of the folks this past weekend when Bamatrooper
came out, had magazine holders that could hold up to
4-5 magazines. I have only seen the double holders
    online. Who makes these?

Comptac makes one called the belt-feed. I think it's a four mag offset belt pouch if I remember it correctly. Google it. Hope that helps.

Belt mag carriers are totally unnecessary in GSSF competition and should be discussed elsewhere.

DannyR the reason I asked this question was because
of the fact that you can use 4 magazines per stage,
& I thought this might be the easiest way to carry them.

Experienced GSSF shooters carry all their equipment to the shooting table in a range bag. Two of the three stages require only 3 mags. Shooters lay their mags on the shooting table or barrel top. I use two mag carriers that hold 6 magazines each per entry. They are not belt carriers.

Almost everyone "experienced" (ie, been to more than one match) shoots more than one entry. I shot two entries (Am Civ and Competition) my first couple of years and added a 3rd entry (Major Sub) last year. You'd need to be able to put 12 mags on your belt then.... so what do you do?

    Forget belt mag pouches.

Money has it the dude you saw was not someone who shoots a lot of GSSF matches. Just like the dudes walking around with the tactical thigh holsters.... a joke.

Agree with DannyR and Ron59 - GSSF is a table shoot match - no need for holster or mag pouches. Although I'm not being critical of those that use them for GSSF; admittedly, I don't understand why.

For me, the ideal number of mags per entry is 11 (3+3+4+1 stripper mag). Anyone know of a cheap mag storage case/bag that holds 11 mags - I'd like to put it inside my Glock single pistol case instead of just storing the mags loose in the case.

    Thanx for any feedback.

    Todd,

The most useful thing to carry other than your range bag is a folding chair.

I have the Midway Competition (Big Bag) that has everything in it.
I also bring my Midway Compact Bag, When I get to the GSSF Match, I put my 3 pistols, Ammo, Speed Loader & Magazines in the Compact Bag and carry that around. If I need something from my Big bag (parts, different glasses etc) which I never do then I walk back to my truck and get it.
I do see a couple Barney Fife Wanna Be's walking around with their Tactical Holsters on..

Mobile is a County Sheriff's range and Bama was training (for the most part) Sheriff's Deputies. It's likely that none have shot GSSF before, but it accounts for mag holsters and tactical gear. I look rather tacti-cool myself, on CG patrol. :patriot:

Here you go Todd. Enough room for 4 guns and 40 mags. Shoot 4 categories without ever having to reload a mag during the match.

Holster, mag pouches, tactical belt. That's just extra weight when already carrying a heavy load, especially the ammo when shooting three entries. The bag and maybe a wagon but nothing unnecessary. :fishing:

The neat thing about mine in the pic above is that you can carry the entire bag which has several extra pouches or just take the center section out and only carry your guns and loaded mags. You have room for 2 Glocks in the zipper compartments on each side plus 40 already loaded mags in the center section. The center insert has carry handles and rings so you can snap on the shoulder stap to carry. Works great.

I use the Midway Tactical Pistol Case for each gun and its mags. It often goes on sale for $9.99, and comes in various colors to help keep things organized.

    http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939160870/midwayusa-tactical-pistol-case

It holds seven mags on one side, and the two large pockets on the other side can hold 4 or 5 additional mags each, with the gun in the middle zippered compartment. If you don't have that many mags, the pockets easily hold boxes of ammo and a loader to load up between stages.

Best solution I have found so far, and I usually shoot 3 or 4 classes at the match.
