Went at 3pm today and line out the door again. But wasn't as bad as last time. Seems like ammo hoarding was the main focus. 3 vendors selling quick ..
2hrs i was there stacks that were 5 ft high rows of 4-5 deep were down to 2-3boxes high.

    .223

    prit partzi 55gr $424/ 1,000
    XM193 $450/1,000

    7.62 x 39
    wolf $330/1,000
    gold bear $320/1,000
    brown bear same

Seems like everyone picked up at least 1k -2k
    Glocks going for $539-$599
cheapest were .40s going for $520-$530

i picked up a nib g26 ns for $579 from Trader Jerry...most other had them going for $599 and also a couple of picatanny rails for my m4s

lots of people who didnt buy ammo were buying up handguns left/right

What a mob. Got my ammo at 3:30 and got out. I doubt there was much left by 5!

just got back. I didn't get there till 5pm. Wasn't as crazy as i thought it was going to be. I stayed till about 730pm or so. By like 645pm people starting leaving, so i walked every isle. It was nice.

I just hate the setup there. They should have all the clothing in one area. All the old guns and parts in one area. Handguns in one area Long guns in one area. Misc. stuff in one area..

    anyway, just my 2 cents..

    /end rant

i got some night sights put on my G22. that was pretty exciting.
    :)

You think the show will be any less crowded on Sunday? I can't go today but have a pistol I need to sell.

I was there yesterday at opening time. Pretty crowded after the first half hour or so. I did see one dealer that was pretty well sold out of pistol ammo by the time I left after 5 pm

Much better show than we get here in Maryland

We were there today. Bought the wife a Lady Smith. Now all I need to do is find ammo. Ammo pickings were slim by the time I left before 3pm, at least for what I'd be interested in. A guy at OBXAmmo offered me his last case of 9mm for $400+. I told him I bought a case of 9mm Blazer Brass at WM last week for less than $200. The owner said I should sell it there tomorrow and double my money then I could buy two cases. I told her it was an intriguing thought but I doubt I'll be lucky enough to stumble on a full case anytime in the foreseeable future. Even WM is limiting their sales, in some places 3 boxes a day.

Any cameras rolling? Figure since 20/20 & 60 minutes did their thing, I wonder if other networks will follow? Seems Virginia is the "Evil Gunshow loophole state".

    Sorry to get off topic.

NPR (npr.org) was at the booth i was getting night sights put on. And my buddy was buying a shotgun. I was standing there for like 20 minutes while he interviewed the owner of the gun store. He wasn't really asking any bad questions. Just like why are people buying guns and ammo. Although one guy that was applying for a gun got denied, and the va. state police called the owner on his cell phone to say he got denied. So that was all being recorded. The guy from NPR also took photos and videos too.

By 5pm Friday I could not find any .45ACP. Don't know how the rest of the weekend went. Trader Jerry was selling Glock 30's for $650. That seems a bit steep. A friend bought a Judge for about $100 less than Gilbert's price, so I guess it all depends on what's in high demand at the moment.

i'm glad i didn't see any VT protesters there. Because their protest would be for the wrong reason (loophole), since Choi didn't buy his at a gunshow.

ammo prices were outrageous. Box of 9m Federal hydrashocks were $25 for 20 rds. Golden Saber $35, SXT $25.....good thing i stocked up years ago on 9mm. too bad didn't do the same with .223 and 7.62

I think i got a decent price on the G26 NS i got, $579...i'm sure if i bought online it would be cheaper, but after transfer fee, insurance, comes out about the same. Carrying this daily now....and easier to conceal!

Picked up a 22 Henry Lever Youth for my boy who came with me plus a 38sp Stallion revolver from Taylor and Co (an old western six shooter). Crowded at 330 when I arrived. Guess I'll continue to hit Walmart for ammo. They had steady inventory about six weeks ago, but now, nothing.

I've had good success with Kingstown WalMart on Friday mornings for .40S&W in stock. Still no .45ACP though :( (Admittedly I have not been there in a week or so to check on stocks.)

Was there Friday. Always a big Mob. Thought ammo prices were too high and am happy I am starting to reload in a few months with a friend. Saw a few Glock RTFs for $499. I picked up a Ruger MKIII with a bull barrel and adjustable rear sight for $199. Was also looking for a new edition Remington 870 but all were over-priced about $50.

I second that. I was there this morning when they opened, I was third in line. They had what looked like 2 cases of 9mm and .40, still no .45. They had three 100-count boxes of .38 and the first three of us in line each took one. They have a corporate sign limiting purchases to 6 boxes. Best to get there by 6:30.
