So I need to remove the butt stock to put on my ASAP plate and I realized that I dont know where my claw is. What will work in place of the claw to get the retention ring off the back so i can get the butt stock off????

You will need an armorers tools or a CAR buttstock wrench.

I'd just wait until you got the proper tool.

I guess you could use a hammer and screwdriver to tap it off, but might bugger-up your castle nut. I think the biggest problem is not in getting it off, but then getting it back on and snug up tight.

Waiting sucks, but will be worth it.

    Fast order processing here...

    How about some vise grips?

Seriously dude, anything but the proper tool is going to seriously mess up your castle nut.

Best bet is using the proper tool.
Second is a hammer and a punch.
