I happened across a reproduction folding stock for the m1 carbine, it was on cheaper than dirt for $180. I was wondering if anyone had ever tried putting a ruger 10/22 into one of these stocks. Seems like it would make a very unique .22 if you were willing to dremel, sand and in some places fiberglass what needed filling. I'll continue surfing other gun-related forums and come back here with any results, unless I find definitive proof it won't work I'll probably try it, if so I'll detail how it goes for anyone else interested.

Small update, saw more stocks from sarco and numrich where it is $169 and says it is walnut, some of the reviews on ctd said the wood is very soft.

In the 80s, there was a company that sold 10/22 stocks that folded in the same manner as the M1 Carbine paratrooper stocks. I saw a 10/22 with one of these stock in a local pawn shop a couple of months ago. I shouldered it, and although it was pretty stable, the flat steel bar wasn't very comfortable against the cheek.

I'll see if I can come up with the company's name that made those stocks; for some reason, Federal Arms (or something close to that) comes to mind...

EDIT: Federal Ordnance was the company.

No problem, glad I could help.

10/22s are lots of fun; everyone should have a couple of them...
