:crying: Well this is sad news...especially after FN discontinued their model in 357sig. Luckily I have one of each. My M&P 357sig is a sweet shooter too!! May have to look for the M&P compact before they dry up.

  2. I really tried to like M&Ps and rented every one I could, but I just never got used to the trigger :(

I have enough different pistols that it is hard to switch back and forth sometimes. I got rid of the DAO Cougar because it was just too much adjustment for me. Don't have too much problem with the M&P. If it were my one and only, I could get good with it....

From the internet chatter, it sounds like low sales figures. Someone stated that as a number of police agencies use the M&P in 357sig, they (S&W) would make special runs to accommodate police sales...

Im surprised that sales are low. Seems like everyone is in love with the .40S&W more than anything else right now.

I've seen this rumor floating around for some time now, but nothing official. Where'd you see the announcement?

I love my M&P357, but if it truly is discontinued, I'll probably go back to the Glock side.

The M&P in 357sig is not listed in S&W's 2011 catalog (that a friend brought back from the NRA convention). I then went to the S&W forum where there is a discussion about said subject. I then went to Gunbroker and Auction Arms where there are almost none listed -which from past experience is not usual. The LGS only had only one (which I bought-more on that later) and the seller said they had stopped making them in 357sig caliber. The funny thing is...is that the S&W website still shows them, but each and every model is listed as out-of-stock by Gallery of Guns (to the right of the screen on each models page).

    Bummer!
My only current 357SIG is my HK P2000.
While I like it, I've been looking for an M&P to replace it with!
    Gotta call my dealer!

I don't believe it was discontinued, they just cut civilian production because civilian sales were limited. You can still get it through first responder or officer purchase programs.

I'm a civilian, so it's effectively discontinued for me. :crying:

Maybe Glock and SIG have the market for 357 SIG pistols sewn up

If you already have one, why would you go back to the Glock side?

I shoot frequently enough that I'll wear the M&P out at some point in the not too distant future. If I can't go out and get a new one, I don't want to keep it in heavy use rotation.

So, my current-model 357 Sig full size choices are limited to the G31 or the Sig P226. I'm not a fan of the Sig long reset trigger, or the short reset-long overtravel tigger, so that leaves the G31. (plus, I have a GSSF card waiting to be used)

The 357 Sig is just neat cartridge, and I'd like to stick with it. It's cheaper than 40 to reload, great performance, and well known as having very good inherent accuracy potential. No one steals my brass at local matches either!

That, and it kinda bugs me that S&W would discontinue it for civilians but not LE.

I have a MINTY M&P357 Compact that I'll be listing in the classifieds of various forums soon, including GT..

Like the M&P9C that we owned for while, the 357 was very accurate with the limited
rounds (8) through it and seemed to have soft recoil.

PEOPLE are still finding the M&P 357s in full-size, but few Compacts are up for sale
    these days.

sadly, my wife thinks we (she) needs to remodel, than have 4 .357 SIGs in the house,.

  19. Can you get a .40 to .357 conversion barrel for the .40 models?

    All the Best,
