I have a new Ported barrel in 9mm by LWD. I was wanting to try a 9mm barrel in my G23. This ported barrel fits and seems to work (without shooting it). One port sticks out and the other is inside the slide....does anyone know it it would be ok to shoot? I want to try a 9mm barrel in my 23 and see how it shoots, but never tried anything with a ported barrel. I swap out 9mm and 40S&W in my G 27 with no problems but this is a little different....any ideas much appreciated!

Get a G23 40-9mm extended ported barrel for your G23 and have fun!

Get a conversion barrel for the G23 - don't try the extended/ported G27 barrel in the G23. I am guessing that by the time the barrel unlocks under recoil, you would already have gas venting directly up into the bottom of the G23 slide. Where does it go from there? :dunno:

Spend the extra money and get a new barrel for the G23 - you could even use it in your G27 as a really extended/ported piece.

Holly Crap I actually need to read the posts - LOL.
DO NOT USE the G27 ported Barrel in your G23 - IMHO.

OK, that's what I was thinking but it's tempting since I have it right here. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for the answers!
