ok so i know there is alot of G30s threads on here but i had to say my piece...

I carry a G30sf for awhile now and have done the G36/G30 hybrid...

What annoys me i watched the shot show glock booth vids and they say its easier to "CONCEAL"... HOW? The frame is the same width and well the frame at its widest point and when you carry well it conceals the same IWB... The length of the barrel is the same... SO... how does it conceal better... all that changed was the weight... and honestly does 3 ounces really change dramatically carrying?

I have shot the G30s and the recoil is snappier then the G27 not like the soft push back shooter from the G30sf...

So you might gain a lighter carry gun but your shooting a snappy gun that lots of people hate with the G27 and well follow up shots is important too and the key of a SD gun... The g30sf follow up shots is amazing cause its such a soft shooter...

Honestly they shouldve slimmed the width of the frame a tad bit to match the width of the slide... And that is possible keeping the double stack... Then you can say its the ULTIMATE conceal .45

AND another thing is the barrel is weak and you cant shoot powerful rowland 460,45 super,10mm conversion and well cause you can only use a G36 slide that cant handle the load...

All in all its the same concealability... So that said if i would have to get a G30s i would wait for the Gen4 that shouldve been done in that platform in the first place...

I have a 30 Gen 4 and it is one soft shooting accurate 45. I have zero interest in a 30s

Just Glock trying to screw up perfection once again. Bring new guns to market for whatever reason and BTF with crap MIM extractors :steamed:
The G30 was made with the beefy slide for a reason as was 10mm!

I'll take the G36 over the G30 every day and twice on Tuesday. G30 is too fat for me.

Don't call my G30 Fat! She is genetically challenged! And keep your G36 away from my G30 because it's making her feel bad....

I have a Gen 3 30 and a 29SF. I don't have any problems carrying them and love them both as they are. I don't get the hand-wringing over having something "new" that's "easier to carry". Sounds like an answer looking for a question to me.

I'll be getting a gen 4 G30 soon. Oh yes, it will be mine! I had a 36 a few years ago. I liked it, so I imagine I'll love the G30. I agree w/the OP. Don't really get the G30s.

I see more people that dont have the G30 yet or new to glocks will buy the G30s cause well they think OOooo ahhhhhhhh its better cause of the slide being thinner... But fail to realize that the Standard G/30 G30sf has more positives then the G30s and well the G30s has alot of negatives...

love the internet...there were so many threads on the proposed G30 "Recon" (G30S) begging GLOCK to make it for years...then GLOCK makes it and there are threads that say GLOCK was stupid for making it...

That's because G30 shooters are like GAP shooters. God forbid you say or change anything about their precious. I for one, gave up on small size 45s. For a gun that size, 9mm is the best choice.

I never begged for one but have saw people beg for single stack .45 and 9mm... I think most of us expierenced glock owners never begged for a G30s since there was a hybrid and well me as a G30sf owner for years knew they really wasnt much of a difference...

When you really get right down to it, it's about choice. It's another option.

I'd like to actually get my hands on one and see what it's like. Check out the grip and see how it feels and if it will need modifying for me to like it, yada yada.

As I have two 45s already, a Ruger P90 and an FNP-45, both full size, having a smaller one with 10+1 capacity is a definite plus for me.

 That's just funny! I've heard the argument for those who like the Beretta 92, if I'm carrying a gun that size, it's not going to be a 9MM, it's going to be a 45, but to carry a gun the size of a G30, it's going to be a 9MM!:rofl:

Talk about precious? Then your talking 9MM!

I can't believe people are complaining about Glock coming out with the 30s.
Not that I want one but I remember about 3 years ago alot of members here were asking for such a Glock.
Some of the members here were even putting their G36 slides on their G30 frame.
I like the G30 the way it is but I have no problem with Glock coming out with some thing new even if it does not interest me.

"Soft Shooting" ??? Are you shooting reloads?

My G30 with Federal Estate 230gr FMJ is definately not mild. My bud who shoots a H&K 9mm said how do you shoot that, it hurts. Maybe it's the ammo selection, but this is just plain jane ammo, and not much different recoil wise vs. HST +P.

I also see guys posting 1" or golfball size groups at 25 yrds.??? I don't see it with mine, but maybe it's the ammo selection. Mine is fairly new, so I need to check out some other ammo choices. Any suggestions?

It is .17" difference when you take the grip into account. When carrying concealed overall width is a factor for some people. I like the G36 for concealed carry, I also have a G21 when more rounds are of a concern.
