I'm traveling to LA tomorrow from Texas.....any issues I should be aware of?
I travel back and forth twice a week nothing to be cconcerned about.
We love guns. Most everyone keeps a gun in their car. We are a "notify" state, so if you're stopped, make sure you notify the officer. Depending on where you are, most LEOs are cool with private firearms carry and will not bat an eye at you. There are some towns down south Louisiana that are LEO-owned and they will give you a bit of a hassle. Obey the speed limit and road rules and you'll be fine.
You can open carry here too.
The food is spicier. May wanna put some rolaids in your glovebox just in case.
If you're going on Bourbon St., bring plenty of singles...
Thanks guys.....good tip on the rollaids lol
In addition to the above:
Property that is signed prohibiting weapons or firearms, you must abide by the signage. Louisiana does not have a specific sign format.
Also, you need to ask permission of/notify the homeowner to enter the residence while carrying concealed.
Hope that helps (no means an exhaustive list!).
Have a great stay in the Bayou State!
Well I made it to Canton Tx and my car started pouring coolant everywhere! So I'm sitting at a diner waiting for a mechanic urgh!!!!!!!!
Glad you were near soomewhere! Last time I had an ocer heating problem in the summer time I was in the middle of no where. Walked a few miles before a state trooper gave me a lift.
$120 later a mechanic fixed it by switching my heater hose and bypassing the broke one.
