I just bought a laptop and went to install Office 07 and I can't find the dang disc anywhere. I've installed it only once on my home PC.
Is there anything I can do before having to buy a new copy?

The disk actually means nothing, it's the product key that is what you are paying for. If you still have the key, you can either borrow somebody else's disk or I think you can download it from MS. :wavey: If you sill have your copy of Office installed on your desktop you can get the key from that PC. I have used Keyfinder 2.0.1 to recover lost keys before.

    Just use Open Office..

Besides, technically, can't you only use the disk on One PC?

    legally yes. That is true.

Now, you could call MS and tell them you formatted your computer and are reinstalling office on it..and you need the key. Maybe that could work?

Although, MS's stuff usually phone's home..so good luck

You can google a program called belark, and use it to get all keycodes. I've done that and printed out hardcopies for my files in the event I loose the disks.
