I'm looking for some info on a gun that was given to me by my grandfather. From an Internet search I have found that the company is out of business/in some way associated with Charles Daly.

The slide has the following marking on it: KBI Inc., Mod. PHJ-9hp, and FÈG.

Other than being out of business, I'm looking for any info on how well these guns are made, their reputation, and what they're modeled after (if anything).

It has shot well for me the handful of times I've shot it. Thanks for the input/feedback.

I believe it is a Browning Hi-Power clone made in Hungary by FEG and imported by KBI.

Looks like a shooter for sure! CONGRATS!

  4. Looks like a Browning Hi Power clone. From Argentina, if my memory serves me right. Enjoy. :)

FEG HP clones were very solid guns. I have a GKK-45, which isn't an HP clone, but similar.

This. I've heard pretty good reviews on them though never shot one personally. YMMV.

I always thought they looked similar. Is there any commonality of parts? Is it made to carry cocked and locked?
