I want a safe to keep under my seat. I don't want to be able to pull it out an access the cable, which means I want one with a slide out drawer. I would prefer mechanical, not electric. Any suggestions?

I am looking for an under the seat holster. Nothing that will be locked up, something easy to get to that will hold a pistol securely.

Maybe a Serpa? Just screw it to the framing under the seat.

Is a Serpa strong enough to keep the gun secure in rough driving? The last thing I would want is a gun on the floor.

It's got that retention lock that should be pretty secure. I've heard of people mounting them in the center console.
Depending where you put it, you may consider a lefty version. Like, say you put it under the passenger seat, you would probably need a lefty so you could lean over and grab it with your left hand and still be able to release the lock.

What do you drive? I have seen a lot of stuff for jeeps and trucks that go in the center console. And maybe some more common cars.

Watch out for rusting. The space underneath car seats are very corrosive.

I once left a .45 Auto under my car seat overnight, an it came out practically all red with rust. It took a lot to restore it.

It's a Glock, should be OK.

Consider carefully the potential for theft of a firearm routinely stored in a vehicle.

The reason I want a gun when I drive is the criminal element.
It would not make sense if I have no gun to protect myself from the criminals because the criminals might steal my gun.
I cannot have any kind of device that defeats the original objective of having a gun instantly available for protection.
I don't agree with some people that advice others to have gun and ammo locked separately in different rooms for safety and for the childrun.
I believe in balance, outta sight and available.

Can you get a CCW in your state?

I just watched a video from the Yankee Marshall on YouTube and he has a nicelooking car safe made by Carry Vault. I'm seriously considering it for my application IF it will fit inside my Ford Ranger.

I already have one and use it. I cannot carry while working, the gun has to stay in a semi secure parking lot.
