    Hi folks,

Since 2000, I've carried a CRKT Point Guard. It's been a good knife, but now I want something more "modern", with "up to date" steels.

I like CRKT: I've recently read a couple of reviews about the M16 and Mah Eraser, but I am open to other brands/designs.

    Requirements:
    -Partially serrated edge
    -Preferred assisted opening
    -Preferred Tanto-point
-Size is not an issue (preferrably as large as possible); I'm 5'6", and 200-lbs, and I carry a full-size G22 in an OWB holster daily without much trouble.
    -I am open to a fixed-blade design
-NO neck knives please! I hate those things.
-Price Point: preferrably no more than $120.00

    Thanks folks!

Big Spyderco fan here. Love the Delica and the Endura.

Kershaw Blur, just picked up my third last week. I'd recommend springing for the model with the S30V steel.

Kershaw fan myself but there are so many EDC possibilities.

Kershaw Rake is one of my favorites. You like CRKT so take a look at Foresight.

My favorite is a SOG Flash Tanto that fits your description - partially serrated, assisted opening tanto.

    Here's a little different direction; checkout -> http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/754-For-Sale-Fixed-Blades

It's a forum where custom knife makers sell their blades. The prices are wide ranging, but it is common to see newish makers selling nice blades for that price. Or you'll see something so cool there that you blow your budget on it, just tryin' to help. :cowboy:

Thanks everyone for your replies! So far, I'm considering a whole bunch of different types; I've even considered a stilleto of some sort. So far, I'm really liking what I see from CRKT.

Also, this knife will be bought through CheaperThanDirt.com (please don't lecture me about how they're price-gouging magazines or ammo right now; I don't care), because I have an account with them, and they accept NRA memberships.

Any more suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I am a big Spyderco fan. How about a Manix 2 combo edge? Benchmade 940 Osborne also comes to mind, or a Griptillian w/Tanto blade.

Same here! I like their product a lot, and for a while, was chasing down a lot of their sprint run blades. I'm still waiting to hear back about the Para 2 204P run, along with the Yojimbo CTS-XHP or S90V sprints.

Not really a carry issue thing, but I carry a benchmade auto.
