I have read though the other thread and before it went all nuts.... a lot of good info I am really leaning toward a Kimber Match II, or a STI Trojan 9mm. I am just not able to go out very much at all with the .45 TRP and it is annoying to not be able to practice that much on the gun I like to shoot the most.

This would be selling my TRP and picking up one of these, I just do not have the funds to keep both. The other option is to sell the TRP and my AR-15 and try to go after a nighthawk or something in that strata. I am not sure what I should do. I want to use the 9mm 1911 as a fun gun, IDPA, USPSA, etc... I have a Sig that I use for HD, and a Sig I use for CCW.

I also thought about an STI Eagle, but I am not sure I would like it.

My EDC is a EMP,.......love it.
I would like to pick up a Colt Commander in 9mm.........if I ever find one.

STI Trojan would be a great choice for what you want IMO. Go for it.

I was looking at the same exact situation recently and I decided to start reloading. For less than the cost of a new gun, you can start rolling your own .45 for the price (or less) of 9mm. I have buddies locally that will let me use their press until I can afford one of my own. Just something to think about.

The STI 2011's are really nice. Out of my 9mm 1911's, my Edge is my most favorite.
My other 9mm's are a SACS "mil-spec"/hi-cap, DW Guardian and SA Loaded

I was thinking of reloading but I just don't have a good spot right now to do the setup. I used to use a friends but they moved so that is out.

I was looking Eagle over Edge just due to IDPA. I want to have the option of playing in what is the closet match to my house.

I would be more unwilling to ditch the TRP if it was a custom or something really nice, but they may be hard to find at times but it is still just a TRP. I need to figure out what a good price is for a used one that looks new.... kind of annoying everyone deletes prices when items sell.

Hornady LnL AP is a really nice press for less than the 550b.

Starts at about $2000 for a basic 9mm Custom Carry.

Just sell the AR.. that way you would have plenty of coin for the STI plus ammo..

+ a year wait, which doesn't help his situation.

    Coke and Dillon.

Actually, the LnL seems to be an awesome press for the coin, if you are mechanically inclined enough to troubleshoot any problems you might have. I've heard they can be quite finicky with setup. I think Cabela's was running them for $400 though + Hornady's free bullets.

I could come up with a way to wait.... Whom is this George you speak of...

I am going to have to figure out prices and list some stuff. I have them for trade put what I want is so limited I doubt I will find that.

If I can ever get a good roof on my shed out building I can convert it to a reloading shed.

The 1911 makes shooting 9mm seem like cheating. That said, I have to side with the camp that suggests reloading. No matter how small your place is, I can't believe you don't have 3 feet somewhere for a Dillon square deal b.
