I have a Springfield Loaded Longslide with a 6" bull barrel, purchased last year. It is very enjoyable to shoot - longer sight radius, slightly higher velocity, accurate, and looks cool! A favorable review on Gunblast touts the higher velocity and accuracy http://www.gunblast.com/RKCampbell_45.htm . I like it so much that I am considering another longslide, here are some options that are currently being made in 6":

    STI Targetmaster, Trojan, Eagle
    Les Baer
    Olympic Arms
    Para

A few other high priced customs are available. Actually, all longslides are pricey, my Springer was $995 and that was a good deal.

Does anyone own one of the above?
Any other opinions on longslide 1911's?

    Also considering an HK Elite.

    How about a Wilson? :)
THis one wasn't too pricey, but it's no longer made.

of what you have listed, i'd get a STI or Baer.
I was just looking at long slides and i think i may go with an 6" Eagle to go with my Edge.

GREAT looking Wilson Longslide! Wish they would make them again.

I live about 70 miles from Olympic Arms, I called them and they said a longslide could be built with the options I wanted (no price quoted). I will have to give them a visit. Other than that, STI and Baer would be the best choice. I have heard of too many quality issues with Para.

i pretty much stole this one last year :)

you can also look at having one built by Bob Serva @ Fusion.
it'll probably be in the price range of the Baer or Eagle.

I think of the brands you listed the Baer is the way to go. If you can handle the price it is the best on the list.

im pretty happy with my STI. Its a great pistol.

I have a Lawman, but as a company, STI is fantastic.
