I used to not think much of LWD barrels. But, I have one
for my G20. Quality is VERY good lately! I'm impresed.

    They make good products.

    Why do you want one?

  4. I have 2 LWD barrels and a 40-9 conversion barrel on the way. They are quality barrels. I have not had any issues.

Most want one to shoot lead reloads from or a conversion barrel.

LWD makes good barrels (I've got a conversion barrel for my G35). However, if you reload, keep in mind that LWD barrels come with exceptionally tight chambers, to the point where some reloaded rounds that would function flawlessly in a stock barrel will not function in a LWD barrel. If you send your barrel and a dummy round to LWD, I've heard they will open the chamber up to take your dummy round.

What you say about tight chambers etc is of course perfectly true.
I purchased a LWD ported barrel for my G22 as I wanted to use reloads with plated and lead bullets and found that sometimes my reloads would not fit. I thought about sending the barrel back to LWD to open up the chamber and then thought if I need to do that what was the point of buying the barrel in the first place.
I took a look at my reloading process, changed my dies from RCBS to Lee with FCD(much tighter tolerances) and voila, no more problems!
Many hundreds of rounds later I am thrilled, not one jam, failure to go into battery, etc.
