thinking of picking this up as a replacement to an ar15 i just sold. anyone have any inputs? googled but couln't find much.

whats the price range for one of these? im looking at the 16 inch chrome lined barrel model.

also, whats the acceptable rane of this system with quality ammo?

purpose of the rifle would be for range/target and home defense should the need arise.

    thanks!

LMT makes great rifles. That said, for the money, I'd buy a Larue OBR or PredatAR.

I'll add a SCAR 17S to the mix (if you can accept that you have to hunt down magazines). All are excellent choices.

The LMT MWS is a really good rifle, however, it a good bit heavier than a AR-15 and some AR-10's. I believe it weighs in at around 9.5lbs. Personally, I would not purchase it to replace an AR-15 but add it to my collection. The AR-15 is an excellent CQB rifle where as the LMT MWS is more of a longer distance rifle. I have seen them new for $2400-$2600 and used from $2300-$2100. They are very accurate rifles good from 800-1000 yards with good glass and training. I just preordered a Colt SP901 and it is due to start shipping hopefully in March/April and should be in the $1800-$2000 range new.
