Anybody live in Livingston or fairly close? Just wondering if it is a nice place or still close to Baton Rouge? Any comments on the public schools, Frost elementary to be specific.

I live between Livingston and Baton Rouge. Yes it is very nice, and so is Denham Springs, Walker, and Watson (and anywhere in between). Denham is next door to Baton Rouge, but the east side of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish is generally pretty nice so we have that buffer between us and downtown BR. Overall great place to live. Livingston Parish has excellent public schools. No knowledge of Frost specifically.

    Hope this helps.

Livingston is a small rural town. Livingston Parish used to be mostly rural but much of it is now a bedroom community for Baton Rouge-primiarily Denham Springs, Watson, Walker. It still retains a country flavor and there is a lot of rural land available. The school system is largely white which is why a lot of people moved there. It used to be a seat of the KKK but that has diminished with a more cosmopolitan population. The school system is pretty good because of low minority rate. Politics are very conservative and there is a large Christian population. Lots of hunting, fishing, etc. in the area or nearby. New Orleans is about an hour or so away. Hammond about 30 minutes.
