The last few weeks I've been seeing a Lincoln car commercial and during the commercial they show two cars, a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr and a 1957 Lincoln MKII Continental, and a new Lincoln sedan.

I say the 1939 Lincoln Zephyr portrayed as an original is actually a street rod. Who agrees with me, and how do you come to this conclusion?

    This one?

I'll take it - the 39, that is.

  3. Modern Lincolns are hideous. I saw something that resembled a wagon with an ugly front and rear. Aztec redux.

Same is true for Cadillacs. They look like a turd with some shard edges. The last caddy I really like was made in say 76, and even then that is only because of the motor.

The arms on the side view mirrors are straight and not curved.

I'm not certain about the antenna from what I can see.

  6. Yep. I dig the German and Swede designs much better. There is a sporty Volvo S60 at the nearby mall. That's a sharp car. The BMWs, Audis, and VWs are classy and age well in looks.

I even had a bit of VW lust today when I saw a light blue Passat TDI here. Very sharp.

You got it, napp32. I started doing that in the mid seventies, for turn signals.

napp32, why didn't you say AMBERLAMPS? That's the way they're listed in the catalog.

I believe that is a 67 continental not a 57. Not sure about the other one.

I am unsure if it is a street rod or original. But it is gorgeous. I am unconvinced any of their current cars will age as well.

That was a 39 Zephyr, and they used a 57 in the commercial I saw, but I did see the blue sedan in the Utube clip featured in this thread.

    I re-watched the film, and I saw a 61-63 Town Car, a 67 town car maybe, and the 39.
