I heard VA was going to get rid of 5 year CHP and go with lifetime CHP this year but postponed it to 2008. Is it really going to happen?

Also, what states issue lifetime permits?

    Central IN.
Indiana issues them. I think upstate NY licenses are for life, unless you buy a new gun, move, etc., too, but I'm not sure about that.

  3. It was going to happen, if the State Police received Funding.

They weren't given the funding in this years session so the Lifetime Permits has been dropped.

to get the funding they would have to impose civil fees up to 5,000 for bad drivers. They dropped the 5,000 fees to 3,000 and only fund roads.
