They still prohibit students from carrying to class. Only teachers and stuff can which is sad. Hopefully they extend that to students.
Wait just a second... I was under the impression that allowing students to carry on a college campus would automatically cause blood to run in the hallways?
Most states allow carry to colleges. It's college policy that usually prevents only students to carry. ... but nobody digs through the SOP's and rules at colleges anyway, they just assume.
Seems as if they do not think students have the same rights as the teachers,or maybe they would just rather ignore that fact.
I wish I could conceal carry on my campus, but state law doesn't allow it, last I checked. Hopefully the legislature changes that when they meet in January. But I doubt it.
It needs to change for the better in every state!
Some Universities aren't in the greatest areas. Kind of like Hospitals.
So there are not likely to be any mass shootings at LU.
Felony in NYS.
For students...just confined to the open areas.....well I guess they have to walk back to their car/dorm, put the firearm up, then walk back across campus unarmed....sounds like a great policy.
Regarding student carry at LU, tis a moot point for most of the students (at least the undergrads) since minimum age for CCW in Virginia is 21.
If you have a CHL you can carry on campus in Texas as long as you stay out of buildings and any grounds where a school event is taking place. Getting the buildings exception removed is the top priority of the state rifle association in 2013. Get involved and help get it done.
I didn't think about VA law - that eliminates 3/4s of the LU students from carrying.
