    Hey all,

I have a couple of Colt's that I really love, a NRM Govt in Blue and an XSE Commander in Stainless that I made a few parts changes on. Now that is a sweet pistola for sure, my favorite pistol that I currently own.

One other 1911 variation that I have always liked is the CCO version, the Concealed Carry Officer model. They also usually have an alloy frame to reduce carry weight. Colt came out with one a couple years back and called it the GUNSITE model and it was really nice. I had hoped to get one, but when it was released the price we were told it would be was no where even close to the final price so alas, I was unable to get one. That doesn't mean that I don't still want one...I do. One of these days I'll either have to buy a used one or get one made from parts coming from Fusion Firearms or Caspian.

Another "carry" size 1911 that I really like is the Kimber CDP Compact. It looks and feels so much better than the Pro CDP or the Ultra CDP. Really a nice pistol that I would love to have.

There is also a LWT XSE in 38 Super that Colt had out last year or so and it's a beauty.

So after all that I am hoping you all can post some pics of CCO's, CDP Compacts and other "Carry Size" 1911's that you think fits in the category. If I was going to carry a 1911 it would certainly be one like the CCO or the Compact CDP. That is unless I found something much nicer....:)

Lets see your pics and hear your thoughts on these "CARRY 1911" choices.

    Thanks

    Nala

...before I started carrying it. :)

It really doesn't show all that much wear today.

That's just it, I'm used to it. :)

The funny thing is that I love steel 1911s much more than light weights, but I started carrying the Kimber because it has an aluminum frame. :headscratch:

    Strange I know. :dunno:

The CDP II is the only aluminum 1911 I own, actually.

I've been tempted to get an aluminum 1911 for the longest time, almost pulled the trigger on a DW CCO and a Colt Commander XSE once, I just cannot get my mind to really do it. I love the steel feeling. Did Colt release a new government size aluminum gun this year?

Yeah, they may have. I'll check.

I really don't keep up on new Colt models. I like Colts of yesteryear.

Yeah, I can see me eventually offloading the Kimber for that....and the CBOB to step up to the KobraCarry. Eventually. :whistling:

I heard someone mention they are starting to trickle out. Not sure how true that is.
