I've been following a Les Baer TRS on gunbroker for almost a week now. It has only 7 rounds through it, comes will original cardboard box and accessories, and bidding started at 1,475. Buy it now is 1550.

There is only 8 hrs left, and no one has bid on it yet. I'm REALLY thinking about submitting the minimum bid, and seeing what happens.

How is the price? This would be my first 1911, and I want to start out with a practical, high quality one. Is the TRS a solid choice?

The price is in line....The TRS is a great pistol. If you are looking for a no frills, pure work/defense pistol, you will be hard pressed to find another pistol in that price range to beat the TRS.

What DRC said. They are nice looking, well-made pistols. That is a good price on it as well.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. Functional features, and high quality. Losing....self....control...

1550 and you haven't bought it now?!?!?!?! What's wrong with you!!??!!??!!

Having owned several different "High End" 1911s...The TRS is so far the best bang for the buck. It has everything you need and nothing you don't. It's a solid platform for an extremely good price.

    Buy it!

last I knew they were running $1850 new. The TRS is as good of a choice as any in the sub $2K price range.

    It was just re listed.

I just bought a combat commander in rough shape. 70s vintage gun from my uncle today, my first 1911.

It would be better if you didn't, we don't need another fine 1911 running around with one of those stupid looking triggers. :whistling:

I just bought one as my first 1911 and actually just shot it today. Very nice gun, but I found it nothing more spectacular than my Glocks in terms of accuracy, and for that reason, may even sell it. I mean why have a $2000 gun if you shoot your $500 gun just a s good or better?

I have one that traveled to Thunder Ranch with me over the summer. It got close to a thousand flawless rounds in three days. It is a great gun. It is difficult to describe how solid it feels. Highly recommended.

That's like buying a Porsche for your first car. Nice if you can afford it. Crazy if you can't.
