    Hello,

One of my bosses asked me to help him find a Les Baer Premier II with a 5" barrel. I jumped at the chance, being the gun nerd that I am. After a few minutes on the net, I found out that these are as common as hens teeth!

Can someone please recommend a place a guy could look to find new or used Les Baer's for sale?

His second choice is a Dan Wesson. I have not looked for those yet. Are these in the same class as an LB? Is there something in that class I should recommend he consider?

    Thanks for your help,

    Jim

John is a great guy to deal with and he does have great prices and a steady stream of Baers on order. There are a few other dealers that have Baers listed on gunbroker with decent prices.

Baer is a level or two above Dan Wesson, in my opinion.

    Hello,

Thanks for the info. After an afternoon of searching, found a couple of LB's for sale via auction - and a couple of DW's as well. Then I changed my strategy and went looking for a good 1911 that was readily available. Ended up finding several very nice S & W 1911's - shot him some pictures and left it at that.

Man, it's hard to find a lot of guns now-a-days! Hope the frenzy dies down soon so a working man can buy a nice gun!

    Thanks again for the help,

    Jim

I have both LB and DW 1911's. For the 5", Baer has the edge. For lightweight CCO size, the DW CCO beats the LB Stinger, IMO.
