I had a 15 plus year old guide rod laser in a model 23 and it always worked great. I just bought a model 38 .45 GAP to change out as a carry gun in place of the .40 and installed the laser in the model 38. It was dead on perfect at the range today, but, after a couple shots, it would sometimes turn itself off, requiring me to press the slide release again to turn it back on again.

Any thoughts?, I believe I did everything right on the install.
