As a possible place to relocate to? SC in general looks like it has a lot of crime. Any areas to look at or avoid?

My wife is thinking about applying for a job there.

It's a great place to raise your children. Lots of southern charm, very mild winters, local hometown feel and a ton of great places to eat. SC is a very pro 2a state and a great place to live.

I love Charleston. I wouldn't want to live there in some areas of it. But others I love. If your trying to relocate for Jobs then also consider the Upstate of SC around Greenville. Its one of the best job rebounding areas in the State. In the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and yet just a short trip down to Charleston.

Noooo, lol. I am not a boat person, I hate the water!

Make the a day at the range and youve got a deal. When I move south, first thing I'm doing is chopping the muzzle brakes off my 2 Ars and putting flash hiders on them.

Moved here four years ago. Love it. We are closing on a house on James Island in two weeks. The big thing in SC, saying this because it looks like you got a kiddo in that picture, is schools. You're pretty much gonna have to follow the school, which will in turn kinda take you away from the crime.

You can pm me too if you want any more info. My wife was crazy about schools so I got all the info on those!

Well, hell, just come on out to the cabin, then! On 5 acres here. You can shoot until you're broke!

SC does not recognize my GA CCW. :miff:

That says a lot about the state and "their rules".

Of course the job that she was going to post for has been pulled. Looked at Greenville and it looks real nice. Have a lot of research to do.

My Florida permit isn't recognized in SC either since its a non resident. At least I can have it in my car when there, which is better than nothing.

I prefer Chucktown (Charleston) to Greenville any day of the week!

But...since you're not into the water, hell, I dunno.

Look into the Columbia area, too. Not too great in itself, but outlying areas are nice. Plus, 2 hours from the coast, and 2 hours from the mountains. Kinda hard to beat in that aspect.

Charleston is nice, though North Charleston sucks. James Island and Johns Island are nice. Columbia is a cess pool of crime and filth. I've been in the Hilton Head area for 15 years and I love it.

Born and raised in Charleston. There are certain pockets of crime that you won't need to be concerned with unless you have a crack problem. Great place to live. I have 2 kids in College and a 9yr. old. We spend our summers on the water boating/fishing/dock dining etc... Love it!!!
