Finally got around to it. It started out as a taco, but due to the thickness of the spine, ended up as a pancake. Even managed to use the same piece of kydex. It's not perfect, but it came out pretty well, and is much more practical than the leather pouch sheath.

I picked up an Esee Izula II a couple days ago and snapped a pic turkey hunting today. Not sure what to think of it yet. It's a handy little size but the blade coating is just strange.

  7. I just got my Birthday present for this year a Ritter mini Griptillian. Only thing on the agenda for the foreseeable future(this year) is probably a fixed blade knife for camping in the outdoors in the $50 range.

I just picked up a CRKT M-16 14SFG and really like it. A larger knife than my previous EDC and great functions, like the tang that catches the pocket edge when you pull it out to instantly open it up. A pretty intimidating look, too. I'd sure love to have gone with a US-made Benchmade or etc., but this one suited my needs and budget really well. I could spend a lot of money on knives if I weren't so well disciplined!

I've been enjoying a resurgence of interest in buying a range of pocket style knives this year.

Folding lock-blades, some assisted, Stockman, Trapper & other penknives.

It's been fun to buy pocket knives other than "working" LB's and SAK's, or fixed blades and the more expensive folders for my collection.

Made me remember how much I enjoyed carrying a treasured pocket knife as a young man. (Instead of carrying a couple of them as daily "work" knives during my LE career, where they became just another piece of my daily equipment.)

I've been both disappointed & pleasantly surprised in a mix of American & Chinese made Trappers. I had 2 out of 2 Case Trapper CV knives have loose blades (both blades in both knives), but an outstanding Colt branded Trapper imported from China, as well as a couple of "okay" and outright poor imported Trappers.

Weird about the back-to-back QC issues with the Case Trappers, as I bought 3 other Case Stockman & penkives that were just as good as I'd expect from that company.

Anyway, I suspect I'll continue to fill out that neglected niche in my collection consisting of old-fashioned pocket knives, and even some "pocket jewelry". :)

Swamp Rat Ratmandu CG came in today, I like it much better than the ESEE 5 it replaced.

I recently bought a Kershaw Scallion. It is my first knife in I don't remember how many years. I recall never being without one as a youngster, but somehow lost the habit of carrying one over time. It isn't as fancy or expensive as most of the others posted, but it's a start for me. Some nice collections y'all seem to have...!

Just got in a stripped Kershaw tanto Groove. Fantastic little knife, easily the best I've ever had for under $50, and possibly even below $100. I like it better than knives I've spent hundreds on.

    With my ZT 0400:

I will probably pick up a Chopweiler when Swamp rat releases it this year and if The Scrap Yard releases what I think they will i will pick one of those up as well.
