Also from the Spyderco forum, El Tigre in Argentina compares the Civilian to the Chinook:
El Tigre's original Delica 1, probably the most popular EDC knife ever, the knife that brought pocket clips and one-hand opening to us:
Here's the Delica 3, in OD:
Here's the jigged-bone Kiwi, by Echo63 down in Australia.
It's a lot more dressy than a Delica, for a gentleman to use at the office. The dual finger choils make it secure to grip, but I think it still needs a short lanyard.
The Salt series using rustproof H1 steel is lightweight, and there are models comparable in size to the Harpy, Delica, Endura, and Rescue. They also come in black.
My Yellow Tasman Salt, fully serrated hawkbill, has become my favorite EDC.
These 2 Salt series pics are by Telemeister in Australia:
Here's one by jaislandboy in Tennessee (where I didn't know they had Vegemite):
Finally a bunch from Ian UK:
Salt 1 (Delica sized) pics by Deer Hunter, somewhere in Europe:
Spyderdog in Ohio is not afraid to get his Tasman Salt wet:
Ahhh. Finally a big decent sized Bowie! Is that one of them Falkeniven blades? I like folders, to a certain extent, but my true love of blades is fixed blades. Thanks for helpin' scratch that itch.
That's awesome! I looked it up and it apparently sells for around $120! I understand that its probably an excellent knife (anything from Spyderco is incredible), but I just can't work up the courage to get it. Do you know if there's anywere I can get it for cheaper?
Thanks for the kind words.
Its a Boker Magnum Outback Field
Not an expensive knife but I like it.
Nope, it's discontinued by Spyderco and No Longer Available
If you can find one anywhere, the price is the price.
Only $118.68, but sold out.
I still have my first delica...unfortunatlly not any where near the shape this one is in. Christmas gift from my ex-wife when my son was 1. I was putting together a bouncy horse and needed to tighten 1 lil frign screw up and you can guess the rest.
Pretend that you intended to convert your Delica to a Rescue:
Maybe I'll be able to dig up a used model off of Ebay.
