Does anybody have any experience with one of these 1911's?
I have heard good and bad things about Kimber. Thanks
Looking to get my first 1911.

For one; I hope you ain't buying that gun off that dealer. He's higher than Tommy Chong in his movies.

Second; I doubt you have any trouble with that gun. If you do it will "usually" be a matter of a correct 5 dollar replacement recoil spring or a call to Kimber and get a new slide stop.

I crack on Kimber pretty bad, just because they have some marketing that I think is downright lying. And they skimp in some petty and ridiculous ways. And they are snottier then heck on the phone and make up ridiculous things not to fix a pistol. But they do make pistols that work for the most part.

After installing a Wolff recoil spring and using Tripp magazines, my Kimber Pro TLE/RL II has been 100% reliable and it is my primary carry gun.

My first 1911 was a RIA. I really want a Springfield Armory LW Champion Operator. I really want rails and a lightweight frame.... And I like how the SA looks.

Check one out. They're not super easy to find, but SA has an amazing reputation for customer service. In the end, I'm sure you'll be happy with either firearm.

I have never shot one but I fondle one at a local shop every now and then. It is easily the most bad-@$$ looking 1911 I have ever seen.

It wouldnt be bad, but if you get find the SA Champ Oper. then you would really win. SA makes arguably a superior product to Kimber and SA's CS puts Kimber's and almost everyone elses to shame

Kimber is ok, but I agree and would get the SA.

I've heard that Kimber's TLE line is among their best/most dependable. I've had ZERO issues with mine, and prefer it to the Springer's I've shot.

Buy Kimber and shoot with confidence!

I have had four Kimbers and the only problem I ever had was when I put the Wolff spring everyone said I had to have in my 9mm Pro Carry. It would not run with that spring and yes, it was the correct part number for a 9mm. The gun wad 100% with the factory spring .

I bought my TLE/RL II almost exactly one year ago and have about 1k rounds through it including WWB and HST 230g +p and 200g +p Gold Dots.

Not a single problem, even when using the crappy mags Kimber sends you. I use those for the range and use Wilson 47D's for SD. Just a little more piece of mind.

I think the Custom II Kimber line is the best value and less problematic of the entire Kimber line. I don't know why this is.

I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. The TLE is a good value IMO with the night sights and checkered front strap included.

I had no problems with the stock mag that came with my ProCarry2. Also used a Wilson ETM with no problems. If I was to buy another Kimber, the ProTLE2 would be my choice.

It should be a good 1911. The Kimber Custom II series is solid.

I came close to buying one of these before I picked up my Springfield TM. The only "watch out for" on the Kimber is make sure the one you buy is the internal extractor. Kimber has apparently had nonstop problems with their external design so why take that risk on.

For me the Kimbers are fantastic. I had a 1911 Kimber TLE/RL II 5 inch full size and unfortunately sold it. The Custom II is a great line.
