    Kentucky Brothers and Sisters,

Heads up from your Buckeye friends. HB 347, our preemption and Ohio concealed carry clean up bill is now in effect. For the first time in the almost three years since Ohio's concealed carry law took effect, CHL-holders are no longer required to carry their holstered firearm in "plain sight" while in a motor vehicle. The unpopular, unsafe requirement was struck from Ohio's law by HB347, a bill which became law despite a gubernatorial veto last December. So next time you visit the state up north you will no longer need to do the buckeye tuck.

While in a car License holders may now carry in a manner of ways. In a concealed holster on your person, an unlocked closed purse or bag so long as the purse or bag is closed with a snap, buckle or zipper and is in plain sight, or a locked glove compartment.

The other significant part of this bill is the state wide preemption of local firearms bans. Some cities will attempt to continue enforcing ban. This info is FYI so please know and obey all local and state laws while carny or transporting a firearm in Ohio.

For more information and further description of this new law please visit this thread in the Ohio forum.
