PF-9 with a 3.1" barrel. Only thing I chrono'd was Federal 124gr +P HST, which I will load in it. Fired 5 rounds but only 4 registered:

    1123fps
    1127fps
    1138fps
    1145fps

    Avg: 1133fps

I'm actually quite impressed with the velocities as I expected them to be in the upper 1000's (like 1070 or 1080fps) from such a short barrel. Seeing as how I've seen chrono results for these rounds out of 4" tubes in the 1150-1160fps range I don't think that 1133fps average is too bad for almost an inch less barrel.

  2. When I looked at a PF9 in a gun store, I noticed a very long rifling twist rate. Could it be the reason for higher than expected velocities?

Rated velocity is around 1260 from a 4.5" Glock 17. So losing about 130 fps sounds about right.
