I have my great-great-uncles Pal rh 36 from WW2, and I really like it. It feels like good quality. The thing is, I don't want to use it due to the sentimental value. It has what appears to be a bloody fingerprint on it as well. :wow:

Anyway, I'd like to get another one of those used, or pick up a new Ka-Bar USMC fighting knife. Are their quality comparable?

Any other similar good quality fixed blade knives like this for under $60?

This isn't going to be for daily carry or anything. I already have a Kershaw Vapor that I'm happy with. I'm just looking for a large, strong, all purpose knife.

This place has about the best prices and I've never read anything but good reports from customers

Cabelas sells Ka-Bars the original USMC leather is $70 and the newer Karton handle version is $64.

Also Ontario knives make the newer version of the KaBar for the USMC. Cabelas sells a civilian version (marine sp-1) for 44.99
