Picked up trojan.byteverify supposedly a rare virus... lol Also had netsky.

This is with updating Norton every other day and running it once a week. I didn't catch it until I booted into safe mode and doing a scan.

Be carefull people and remember to run your AV in safe mode every now adn then.

I got a virus and a trojan 2 weeks ago. Man did it give me hell. It disabled my Macafee (no longer usable), Aluria missed it and ZoneAlarm missed it. The only way I got rid of it was using eAcceleration computer protection services. Now I'm catching and disposing of 7 spywares per day.Man do I love eAcceleration stuff!!

    Herr Hauptmann--

That is an exploit of the Java Runtime engine.

It is easy as can be to eliminate this security hole.

Just open the Control Panel and select Java Plug-In from the icons there.

Uncheck Show Icon in Taskbar and hit Apply.

Select the Advanced tab and click the dropdown arrow in the letterbox field if it says Use Plugin Default and select the newest one there. Apply.

Now we fix the problem forever--open the Cache tab and untick the box in the upper left that allows caching, then click Apply.

Lastly, click on Updates and disable its ability to update (read BREAK) itself...and click Apply, then close by clicking the red X in the upper right corner.

Very simple and usually overlooked for some reason.

    Good luck!
