Just got my first 1911.
It's a RIA Tactical:
Any recommendation on mags, ammo, cleaning etc?
Congrats Nice looking 1911.
Ammo: Just stay with a name brand and you will be fine. Winchester, Federal, Remington, Hornady Etc....
Mags: Wilson Combat, Ed Brown, Tripps, Mecgar, Chip McCormick are just some of the good ones
Cleaning: Just watch a few of the videos on yourtube for how to and just basic cleaning supplies as with all other firearms.
Congrats. Looks good. I second what Ruggles suggested.
Congrats. My first 1911 was a RIA as well.
Looks very nice
Already looking for a set of US Marine Corps grips that I like.
Ah yes the great grip collection, no 1911 guy is truly a 1911 guy unless they own 6 sets of grips for every 1911 they own.
Not sure if you know but make sure any grips you buy are cut for the ambi safety your gun has.
Actually, with that style ambi, he doesn't need the slot underneath the grip. In fact, I was just looking at my Daly EFS, which is basically the same 1911, and it doesn't even have a cut out on the top of the grip.
Its just a standard right side 1911 grip.
So these will fit?
......now I'm buying a new set of grips!! (the Army version)
BTW- yes, the grips will fit
Here's a good video, especially if you're not familiar with field stripping.
I'm not usually a fan of larger sized rollmarks, but I think that looks fantastic. Nice piece!
congrats, enjoy it! it's your first 1911, but it won't be your last!
Aint that the truth. And sometimes just as many holsters.
congrats on your purchase 1985 4Runner.
When you're cleaning it, check the firing pin channel for packing grease.
.....but how is a stainless 1911 tactical??
congrats. have fun with it.
Nickel finish I believe.
Tac Nic..that's funny. Yep new grips as that funky cut out bothers me.
nice and congrats.I didnt know they made it in nickel finish
