Can you please give me a brief run down of gun laws Pilipinas ngayon..MOre like in terms of private ownership/possesion when and how to transport it to the range.. Permit to carry.. Mayroon na ba tayong concealed handgun license ?? Marami pong salamat sa lahat..One last thing at palagay ko alam ko ang sagot... I take it there is no way I can bring my small gun collection home if and when I decide to retire there, right?? But then again that will be at least 10 years from now.. Maybe things will change by then...

    Hi :)

In the sticky thread "Saruman's Gun Store Directory ...Redux"
found near the top of the forum, the very first post provides
a bunch of useful links, one of them to a repository of
    Philippine Firearm-Related Laws and Issuances.

    Blunt skippy on Permits:

    Firearm License(FL)
Required per firearm owned, valid for two years, for keeping and
maintaining said firearm within the single, specific location address
specified on the license. It also permits keeping and maintaining
    ammunition for said particular firearm.

Permit to Transport Firearm (PTFA, aka PTT)
An unloaded-firearm transport permit, limited to the single specific
firearm indicated, and the destination indicated, allowing a roughly
2 kilometer deviation from the general path to and from said
destination and he address indicated on the particular firearm's
license. There are several sub-types of PTFA's, including the most
common 3-month validity PTFA to and from a specific gun club-slash-
firing range. There are single-day and seven-day PTFA's to the FED
licensing office and to the gunsmith among still others.

Permit To Carry Firearm Outside Residence(PTCFOR)
A concealed-carry permit, valid for one year, limited to the single
particular firearm indicated in the permit. There is of course the
strangling limitation that it isn't valid within "commercial
establishments" (why they appended so general a term after a clear
limitation outside cabarets and drinking establishements is a wonder).

I hope you can one day bring in all your guns.
Even if importation was to cease to be a legal problem (one can dream),
present law restricts you 15 handguns and 6 long arms, providing you
are a gun club member. High powered rifles are currently and
generally being denied registration and licensing by FED.

    :)

Lots of gun clubs in the Philippines.

Annual membership ranges from just under PhP2,000 to over PhP3,000,
depending on the club/range. And oh, gun club membership is a requisite for owning a handgun greater than 9mm caliber.

  5. There are lots of guns here bro Kingsun..No need to bring your collection here as it is legally impossible. Start collecting guns again when you retire here..:) Welcome to the forum bro!!
