Are there really just 7 courses of fire total for GSSF matches?
Seven? There are three for the outdoor matches:
Five To Glock--three strings of 10 rounds
Glock M--three strings, you may load 11 rounds
The Plates--four strings, you may load 11 rounds
Minimum 81 rounds, maximum 107 rounds.
Heavy Metal/Major Subcompact is restricted to 7 rounds.
There are only 3 courses of fire:
Plates - 4 separate timed strings shot here
Glock M - 3 strings here
5 to Glock - 3 strings here
The 5 to Glock and Glock M have multiple options that the host club gets to choose between... but all "bays" at that event will have the same setup.
[EDIT: Dang, Danny beat me my 2 minutes.]
There a 7 divisions, but only 3 courses of fire... used for each of the 7 divisions.
However, since no one is allowed to shoot Amateur Civilian and Amateur Guardian at the same match, there is a maximum of only 6 courses of fire available to "amateur" shooters. Master class shooters can only shoot a max of 5 divisions.
This is where I got 7. 3 and then the alt of those 3 and a paper version of Glock'M.
I just thought there would be more.
Trust me with all the other stuff going on, pasting targets and having to wait in between stages three stages is plenty. You will get to shoot 10 strings of fire in each division. That's alot of shooting if you add up the total amount of scored rounds. Especially if you shoot 2 or 3 divisions.
