Pretty much in the same manner as Dave Duerson.

I understand some occupations are inherently more dangerous than others, but changes will be coming.

RIP Junior, you are a damn fun player to watch on the field.

Wow.. didn't see that one coming.

RIP Junior. Enjoyed watching you play all those years.

Wonder if they will link it to CTE?

That is a shocker. Never would have expected it from that guy. A can-do leader type quitting like that.

There is speculation that he shot himself in the chest so that his brain could be used for research and study. There have already been a number of ex-NFL players who said they would donate their brain for research

Looks like that link has already been made.

btw: you'd think the NFL would make players sign something saying that they are aware of the physical and long term risks associated with playing football and that they can not sue the NFL in the future.

    Gunshot wound to the chest?

Of course I can't fully understand the decision making process of a suicidal person, but the chest?? Seems weird to me.

Go to enough suicides and no manner of self-inflicted death will seem weird.

If he plans to donate his brain then it does make sense. Another NFL player did that in the past. Said he would donate his brain to concussion research, then shot himself in the chest so that they could still use his brain. A messed up logic, but does make sense.

Maybe Junior was thinking the same thing.

Very sad, he was an amazing player. I was happy when the Dolphins picked him up, and sad when he left.

that is typical ignorant post , im guessing you never had someone close to you kill themselves , when you get that low all rational thinking is out the window ,

it dont happen like this " laade daa skip to the beat " then oh i think i will kill myself :upeyes:

the man was not a quitter in my book , there is nobody here who knows their ass from a hole in the ground if they say they would never kill themselves . get a terminal illness and suffer and suffer , youd think twice .
