Joining a Lodge

Discussion in 'Freemason's Lodge' started by Line Rider, Dec 24, 2009.

  1. I finally decided to join a Lodge, after several years of thinking about it. I turned in my petition to the Lodge Sec. on Tuesday night.

    What's the next step?

  2. Line Rider, congrats on your decission to join the Fraternity. The next step is to wait until the Lodge contacts you with further instructions. It won't be overnight but well worth the wait.tom.

Don't get frustrated if you don't hear back immediatly. Your petition has to be read in lodge, and an investigative committee assigned. They will contact and meet with you. Then their report will be read in lodge and voted on. If favorable, then a degree team will be put together and your date scheduled. Depending on how often your lodge meets this process can take a month or so.

    Enjoy the journey.

  6. I met with the investigative committee last Saturday. From what I could tell things went very well. They told me that I would be voted on the next meeting Monday 25th. I was impressed by the calibre of the men on the committee. They said I would know something this next week.

  8. You've taken the first step of the journey. Congrats.

  9. Great new gentlemen. My petition has been voted on and I have been accepted into the Lodge. I received the call on Wednesday from the lodge secretary who told me my EA ceremony is set for Feb. 8 at 6:30pm. I'm looking forward to it.
