Every year we try to get down to Jackson Hole at least once during the winter to get a good look at some huge bull elk. The reserve at Jackson currently has about 5500 elk on it. Last year was a about 6500 and in the past as high at 10 to 11 though. They generally manage it for 7500. About 25% of the elk are from Yellowstone National Park, about 50% are from Grand Teton National Park and the other 25% either live there year round or are from surrounding mountains.

Here are just a few pictures. I got about 60 pics on digital and about two rolls of film.

    Enjoy!!!

Great pics of some majestic animals. Mind if I make-up a desktop image with them, just for my own use?

You get around with that camera stuff a bit, hmmm? Pretty dedicated to be out shootin' pics in the snow and cold.

I appreciate your sharing these. Thanks!

Niner these are just my own personal shots. They are buy no means professional shots and I do not make money with them.

Please feel free to use them for a desk top. The only thing I ask is that you do not sell them. You recieve free give free. These majestic animals are for us all to enjoy.

BTW, if you would like I have some others that I have to develope and scan. If there are some that would make good desk tops I could send them to you.

This one might make a good desktop.

BTW, it wasn't really that bad out there. We went out in a sleigh ride. It was about 15-20 degrees with no wind. It was pretty nice feeling actually after the last couple of days below zero.

    Another nice one; thanks!

For all the places I've lived and visited, I've not seen many elk, so I'm always impressed with the size and (usually) symmetrical shape of their racks. Right up there with a nice bull moose in my opinion.
