McDonalds worker claims winning lottery ticket is hers......not one of the group tickets she bought with co-workers! Typical.....hope she gets hit by Lightning next week. Lottery investigation already started.

Maybe it is hers, and not one bought by/for the group.

Ehhh you do a group buy and you win....there is no way you will ever convince the group that its your "personal ticket". Thats the cost of doing business. She needs to man up and share the loot.

    Yep.

She will probably lose when it goes to court, and it will. She will save time, money, and aggravation by just sharing it. She might keep some friends that way too.

Where I work, the person that buys the tickets copies them at the very least so everyone has access to the numbers. If it's not on the list, it's not part of the pool.

Is it that rare to do? Seems like this happens all the time.

So many ways to safeguard against this... Tickets stored at work, copies for all, etc.

I don't play the lotto much, and my workplace didn't have any pools that I was aware of, but I think any reasonable person in a lottery pool would expect some kind of assurance and accountability for how the money was spent.

This was in the news recently in another case. The guy claimed the winning ticket wasn't a part of their group buy. The group sued and won. He was ordered to give them something like $11 million. He was very unhappy.

    Pass on the group buys.
